App development

Ideas, broughtto life.

iOS and Android from one codebase. Eight apps of our own are live in the App Store and Google Play, so we know where this goes wrong.

Proof

We ship our own

We are not describing a process we read about. These are our apps, through review, in both stores.

How we build

Four stages, and what you get

01

Discovery and design

We work out what the app actually needs to do, then design it. You get a prototype you can click through before we write any code.

You get: A clickable prototype

02

Build

One Flutter codebase for iOS and Android. You get builds as we go, so you are never waiting months to see progress.

You get: TestFlight and Play builds

03

Launch

Store listing, screenshots, age rating, data safety, review. We have been through this eight times and we handle all of it.

You get: A live listing in both stores

04

Keep it running

iOS and Android ship a major release every year and things break. We update, fix and keep it compatible.

You get: An ongoing maintenance window

Under the hood

One codebase, both stores

Flutter

One codebase compiled to native iOS and Android. Half the work, and the two never drift apart.

Firebase

Accounts, database, push notifications and cloud functions, without running our own servers.

RevenueCat

Subscriptions and in-app purchases that work the same on both platforms.

Store submission

Review, age ratings, data safety and privacy policies. Handled by us, not handed back to you.

Questions

Before you ask

How long does an app take?

A focused first version is usually three to four months from first design to store listing. Anything with accounts, payments or real-time multiplayer takes longer, and we will say so at the start.

What does it cost?

It depends entirely on scope, so we will not quote a number here that we would have to walk back. Tell us what you have in mind and you get a real figure with the assumptions written down.

Who owns the code?

You do. The repository, the store listings and the accounts are yours. We do not hold anything hostage.

Do you maintain it after launch?

Yes, and we would push you to budget for it. An app that is not maintained stops working within about two years, as the platforms move on.

Can you take over an existing app?

Often, yes. We would look at the codebase first and tell you honestly whether taking it over or rebuilding is the better use of your money.
